The kids are back in school, summer activities are wrapping up, and life is finally starting to settle into a routine again.
Now the question is: where does YOUR fitness fit into that routine?
Between work, school drop-offs, practices, homework, dinner, and everything else on the calendar, it can feel like there’s no time left for you. But getting into a fitness routine doesn’t mean you need to find two extra hours every day.
You just need to make it part of your schedule.
1. Pick Your Days Ahead of Time
Instead of saying, “I’ll work out when I have time,” decide which days you’re going to work out before the week starts.
Start with 3 days a week. Put those workouts on your calendar just like you would a meeting, appointment, or your kid’s practice.
2. Find a Time That Actually Works for Your Life
Are you better off getting your workout done before everyone wakes up? After school drop-off? Or after work?
There’s no “best” time to exercise. The best time is the one you can consistently show up for.
3. Don’t Wait for the Perfect Week
There will always be something.
A kid gets sick. Practice runs late. Work gets crazy. You didn’t sleep well.
Missing one workout doesn’t mean you’ve ruined your week. Adjust your schedule and keep going.
Consistency doesn’t mean being perfect. It means continuing to come back.
4. Remember That Your Time Matters Too
We’re really good at making time for our kids, jobs, families, and responsibilities. But taking care of yourself deserves a place on that list too.
Working out can help you become stronger, have more energy, and feel better for everything else you have to do.
Start With One Week
Don’t worry about creating the perfect fitness routine for the next year.
Look at this week.
Find three spots on your calendar where you can fit in a workout. Schedule them. Show up. Then do it again next week.
The kids are back in their routine.
Now it’s time to create one for YOU. 💪
At BlackSite CrossFit, we have multiple class times throughout the day to make fitting fitness into a busy schedule a little easier. And if you don’t know where to start, that’s exactly what we’re here for.
