Memorial Day is approaching, and with it comes one of the most iconic and meaningful workouts in the CrossFit community: Murph.

It’s tough. It’s long. And it’s meant to be. But here’s the truth:

👉 You don’t have to be a seasoned athlete to do Murph.
👉 You don’t have to “RX” it.
👉 You just have to show up.

Here’s why you should do Murph — especially if you think you shouldn’t:

💥 1. Murph is about effort, not ego.

Named in honor of Navy Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, Murph is not just a workout — it’s a tribute. You’re not doing this to set a personal record or compete with the person next to you. You’re doing it to honor sacrifice, push your limits, and be part of something bigger than yourself.

🚀 2. You can scale everything.

Can’t do 100 pull-ups? Scale them to ring rows or jumping pull-ups. Struggling with push-ups? Go to knees or break them up more frequently. Don’t want to run a full mile? Cut the distance.
Murph can (and should) be tailored to your current fitness level — and you’ll still get every ounce of meaning and challenge out of it.

💪 3. It’s a benchmark of your growth.

If you’ve done Murph before, doing it again gives you a chance to reflect on how far you’ve come. Maybe last year you broke it into 20 rounds of 5-10-15. This year you might go unpartitioned or wear a vest.
Or maybe you’re doing it for the first time — that’s powerful, too. Murph is one of the most memorable milestones in a CrossFitter’s journey.

❤️ 4. The community shows up — and carries you.

You’ll never be alone in this workout. Murph is a shared experience — one of the few workouts where the energy in the room is 100% effort, grit, and support. Whether it’s your first or fifth time, you’ll feel the power of the community lifting you through every rep.

🎯 5. It’s not about how fast you go — it’s that you finish.

Murph is more mental than physical. It’s about grinding through something tough because it matters. There’s no cut-off time. No judgment. Just the commitment to show up, move with purpose, and finish strong — your way.

So, if you’re new… do Murph.

If you’ve done it before… do Murph again.
If you’re not sure you’re “ready”… show up anyway.

You’re more capable than you think — and the only thing you need to bring is your willingness to try.

See you on Monday, May 26th at 9:00 AM. We’ll do it together. 🇺🇸
