We get it. Even with the best intentions to get to the gym 4-5 times a week, at some point, life will, inevitably, get in the way.

This is why we shoot for the high number of 5 times per week anyway- because, chances are, 5 will more than likely be closer to 3 or 4. Between picking up and dropping the kids off at school, meetings running late at work, and trying to throw together a home-cooked meal, some days, it will feel impossible to fit everything into your 24 hours.

The good thing is, we’re not after perfection. There is far more value in perusing consistency “most of the time” than having a perfect couple of weeks, only to fall off and no-show for the next two.

While we know our ideal workout would take place at BlackSite CrossFit, guided by a coach, and amongst a class full of people, your workout doesn’t have to be a complete loss if you can’t make it to the gym once or twice a week.

Again, progress in consistency, not perfection.

Next time you find yourself in a bit of a time crunch, try out this at-home workout as a substitute to making it to a class. Then, get back through those doors the next day, having not lost momentum by skipping a day all together.

This workout requires no equipment, yet still hits multiple muscle groups and elevates the heart rate. Shoot for a moderate, consistent pace across all 8 rounds. Just keep moving.

Do it in your backyard while the kids play, in your living room, or even in front of the TV.

Even if it’s not your absolute best workout of the week, it moves your far closer to your goals than opting to sit on the couch instead.

8 Rounds for Time:

  • 10 Push-ups
  • 10 Air Squats
  • 10 Burpees
  • 10 Air Squats

Way to get after it even amongst the chaos!
